Class 2 District Tournament Updates

Here is your rundown of the C2 District and State Tournament:

C2D1 - Bernie and Hayti are in the finals. This is the game everybody wanted to see all year. Either team can win, both are well coached, and the winner has a shot to make a deep run in the playoffs.

C2D2 - Oran beat Chaffee convingly. Wow. I didn't see that one coming. Now they get #1 seeded (roll your eyes here, nothing like seed meeting politics) St. Vincent, who is a solid team also. Look for the defending champs to make a statement. And is it time for us to start talking about Joe Shoemaker as one of the all time great coaches in that area? The guy has had a phenomenal career.

C2D3 - Thayer and Neelyville, what a game! 24-4 vs. 22-4, both solid, solid teams. Somebody has to go home early. I'm taking Thayer here, simply because of tradition and pedigree. I love what Neelyville is building, and I'm a fan of that coach, but they're a year away.

C2D4 - They're still in the seminfinals, but look for Mansfield and Hartville to squre off in the finals. That should be a great game.

C2D5 - The #1 sweed here is 12-13, not one winning record in the district, and.... yeah... moving on....

C2D6 - No updates here. Look for Canton or Van-Far to come out of here.

C2D7 - No updates here. Milan (23-2) is the #1 seed, but don't overlook Salisbury. That's a solid team.

C2D8 - Best Class 2 District in the state. Harrisburg is a fun team to watch. Fayette is the #4 seed (22-3, spent a lot of time ranked in the state this year, solid team). Eugene and New Bloomfield (19-6) are also really good. This is a good district. Harrisburg should win it, and they've got the stuff to make a run at the Final Four.

C2D9 - Vienna, Crocker, or Iberia should make a run. Don't sleep on Iberia and Coach Nick Voss. That's a team on the rise.

C2D10 - Spokane or Skyline should come out here. No updates as they're still in the semifinals.

C2D11 - This looks like another weak district, with Blue Eye (19-5) being the favorite.

C2D12 - Pierce City or Purdy should make it out. Too early to tell. Still in the semifinal round.

C2D13 - Lockwod or Rich Hill will come out.

C2D14 - Sacred Heart (24-1) is the team to beat in that district. Nobody will even play them close. They're the favorite to win the state title, and in my opinion, it's not even close.

C2D15 - Wellington Napolean is 17-7 and has a really solid team. Look for them to come out of that district.

C2D16 - Mid-Buchanan not only has the best PR department (check out that hype video!) in the state, but they also have a really good basketball team (21-4). They're winning this district, and might be the only team in that part of the state to give Sacred Heart a run for their money on the way to state.

My way, way, waaayyyyyyy too early Final Four Prediction:

Harrisburg

Oran... Bernie... Hayti... no Thayer... wait it's Hartville... ummmmmmmm never mind, I'm sticking with ORAN

?????? no clue at all who is going to be the 4th team because there isn't a clear cut good team coming out of that part of the state.
