Every game has an MVP? What the heck is going on?

Old School Fan here. I've been out watching basketball games. I've got a couple of things I have to ask about that I just saw here recently.

Have you noticed how teams do the starting lineup now and every kid has their own little secret handshake or dance move after they call out his name? What's up with that? Why do coaches allow this sort of thing? It's just silly,

I think the coach needs to tell everybody to work on some free throws instead of secret handshakes. Or if the coach is going to allow this nonsense to continue at least have the guys do some original stuff. Like at least make it entertaining. This stuff is lame most of the time. Especially the non-starter that's involved with this stuff. This player has a lot of time to be working on his handshake moves since he's not getting to play as much. So everybody pick up the slack or just knock it off.

The other thing I've noticed is at these tournaments and shootouts now there is an MVP of like every single game. Why do this stuff? We all saw who played well and who didn't. If I were the coach I wouldn't like this sort of thing because it might actually create some jealous between teammates. It's a team game. Why have an MVP for every game? Do kids need a trophy that bad?

This is Old School Fan saying WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON? Some of this stuff just doesn't make a lot of sense, but then again I'm so old I can remember when there was no 3 point line and teams actually cut and moved without the ball.

What do you guys think? Are these good things or should we just go back to the way it used to be?
