I've been watching basketball all of my life. I love basketball. But I go to games now and I see something that has been bothering me for a long time. I was talking with Coach Heeb about this and he agreed to let me write this on his blog (thanks Coach).
What is the deal with players pulling on their jersey and asking their coach to come out of the game? Other teams have a different code where the player will tap the top of his head. But these kids are tired and want to come out of the game?
WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?
Call me old school but I don't understand this. Is this some kind of new strategy coaches are using? Or is this just kids being out of shape? Are coaches not pushing kids hard enough in practice? If coaches try to push the kids are the parents and school administration not supporting the coaches?
Tell me what you think. I just think the whole thing is kind of silly. I'm all for a coach using his bench. I just don't like it when the kids are out there asking to come out of the game. When I played I never wanted to come out of the game!!!!!
Thanks for listening to this old school fan.
