I am a firm believer that coaches need to continually improve. I think that means you have to read a lot and study other coaches. I really enjoy reading good ideas and good things other coaches are doing. So I want to share this with everybody. If you like it, you can check this out throughout the week right here on the site.
Here are 3 ideas I came across that I liked this week:
1. I believe in continuing to weight train during the season. This article gives some common sense advice on how continue lifting during a long season.
2. This podcast had Jim Harbaugh. That was enough for me, but it also had John Calipari and Tom Crean. Check it out. It's worth the listen.
3. I thought this article by Zach Lowe was fantastic. He talks about how the Utah Jazz are overcoming the loss of their best player, Gordon Hayward. As a coach, how do you adjust if you lose your best player (injury, moves, quits, etc) in the middle of a season?
BONUS: My absolute favorite writer is Bill Simmons. I love reading anything he talks about regarding basketball because he is smart and he's funny. Bill didn't write this, but it's from his website, and it discusses the Grizzlies "blowing things up."
Finally, check out this video from Stan Van Gundy. I thought this was fantastic. Thanks for reading. Focus on the positive with your team. Try to make today a win. #JWT
