High School Basketball, Boys Class 1-5 Season Preview

Class 1 Boys, Walnut Grove is the defending state champs. They have a lot coming back. Advance will be good again. Risco gave them a run for their money. Eminence has an outstanding team coming back. North Andrew returns virtually their entire team. Anybody else?

Class 2 Boys, Oran won it all last year. Thayer is always a threat. Hartville won it two years ago and could be strong again. Sacred Heart "coulda, woulda" last year. Bernie looks like they're going to have another strong season. Is there another team out there that deserves mentioning?

Class 3 Boys, "The Factory" has a strong senior class that bowed out early to a really good Saxony Lutheran team last year. Whitfield should be very strong again. Ritter and Hogan Prep are always in the mix. Transportation and Law won it all last year and have several players back. Who else is out there that deserves a mention?

Class 4 Boys, Vashon has won the last two state titles, but barely got by a very tough St. Mary's team. Sikeston brings their core back, plus some reinforcements. St. Joe's is always a threat from the Northwest. Bolivar was very strong last year. Can they make another run? Who else is out there?

Class 5 Boys, Webster Groves has their dynamic duo back and is looking to repeat as state champs. Kickapoo played them to the wire last year. Rock Bridge looks to be loaded. Lee's Summit North and Chaminade are perennial contenders. Who else is going to have a strong team in Class 5?
