The 4th of July: When American Just Won Today

We talk about winning the day here. JUST WIN TODAY. After all, today is the only day we are promised. We can't change yesterday. We aren't guaranteed tomorrow. Just Win Today.

Over 200 years ago our forefathers picked up the biggest win in the history of our great nation. We declared our independence, had home court advantage, and handed England a big fat "L." How was something like this possible? How did we break free of, at the time, the most dominant country on Earth? How did we gain our independence?

We came together. Neighbors, side by side, working together, made this happen. Everybody pitched in. We were all on the same team. We were all fighting for the same cause. There was a threat from the outside, and it brought us all together.

Think about where our country is at today. Everybody has to pick a side. Nobody can say 'some of what Trump says is okay, but some other stuff is really stupid and outrageous." You can't say that. You have to pick a side. He's either never wrong or he's the worst thing to ever happen to America.

I can remember a time we all came together. Where were you when the world stopped turning? Do you remember where you were at when those planes hit the Twin Towers? I can remember it like it was yesterday, and for just a little while, there was no Republican or Democrat. That day brought us all to our knees.

It's amazing how people come together when they have to, when there is a threat from the outside. It's a shame it takes something like that to bring us together. Left on our own, we tear each other down and find petty differences that really don't amount to much.

Like my man Kid Rock says, "It's times like these we can't replace. It's times like these we must embrace. And even though it's bittersweet, and brings us to our knees, it makes us who we are in times like these."

I want you to think about that today. Think about what exactly we're celebrating on the 4th of July. We are celebrating being free. We are celebrating the brave men and women who keep us free, and we all know somebody who is or was serving in the military. We are celebrating the fact that, no matter our differences, time and time and time again, we've come together when we had to.

We live in the greatest country in the world. So happy 4th of July to everybody. I hope it's a good one for you. I've included a few videos to get us all in the spirit of the holiday. Thanks for reading. #JWT

If this doesn't give you the chills, you might be a communist.

God Bless the USA! Can you even have the 4th of July without Lee Greenwood?

Thanks to all of our troops! Freedom isn't free. Thank you for your sacrifice.

America the Beautiful, by THE GREAT RAY CHARLES!

Never forget! We all came together then. We can again.

And finally, the Star Spangled Banner. The National Anthem for the greatest country in the world. This an anthem for WINNERS! This is the best version I've ever heard, by the late great Whitney Houston.
