Weekly Challenge: Call Somebody You Love

That's a picture of me and my best friend, Gary "Scooter" Mize. He's been my best friend for as long as I can remember. We haven't lived close to each other for 10 years. We still talk all the time. I'll talk more about that in a minute.
So this is a new idea. Maybe everybody will hate it. Maybe I'll end up getting rid of it. But I had an idea, and I was talking with a friend of mine who gave me the idea to reshape it as a "challenge." So let's try it out.
I'm going to try this "challenge," that is a way for me to improve myself. I'm inviting all of you to join in with me. I would really appreciate any feedback you can give me, anything that will encourage me or maybe encourage other people who also get in the challenge with me.
So first up, I'm going to try to call people I haven't talked to in a while. Why? Because I'm really, really bad at calling people that I love, people that are close to me, etc. I work close to a billion hours a week (maybe not quite that many lol), and I just get "caught up" in what I'm doing.
I almost always (JWT Rule #7, Don't say always or never, those words will make liars out of you) talk to or try to call my kids and Scooter. There are others, people that I really love and care about, that I don't call as often as I should. It's not that I'm mad or holding a grudge or anything like that. I just get caught up and don't call like I should.

So this is my weekly challenge. Every day this week, I'm going to try to talk to somebody I love or haven't called in a while. I'm challenging you to do the same thing. If you're in this with me, here is what I want you to do:
1) SHARE this somehow... on Facebook, email it to your coworkers, text it to somebody else, etc. If you're in it, I want you to share it with other people.
2) Leave me a comment to tell me how it went. Did you call somebody? Were they happy to hear from you? Did you feel better having made that call? Did you call more than one person this week?
Life is short. Trust me. I woke up once in the floor of my Jeep, the victim of a drunk driver. They were cutting me out of it, not sure I was even alive. There is no promise of tomorrow for any of us. So pick up the phone. Call somebody. Send them a text. Do it. You'll be so glad you did.
