"Don't worry about a thing. Cause every little thing is gonna be alright."
- Bob Marley
Good morning to the JWT Fam. I hope everybody woke up, brushed your teeth, and got the day started out right. (SERIOUSLY? DID YOU REMEMBER TO BRUSH YOUR TEETH? LOL). It's already a good day if we started out with a Bob Marley quote, right? So let's get the day started.

This morning the Pep Talk comes from Mrs. Holly Jo Engle. About a week ago, Holly reached out to me about contributing to the site. She is an educator from Blytheville, Arkansas. After exchanging ideas over email, it was clear to me that Holly has a JWT attitude. So please welcome her to the JWT Fam!
This is what Holly had to say...
Wanted: A Positive Attitude
We all have a circle of people we see every day, whether it be in the teacher’s lounge or in the hallways. If you are an educator, you have peers you have to interact with on a daily basis. Sometimes, the attitudes from these coworkers can influence your attitude for the entire day.
I conducted a survey at the beginning of the year about attitudes. Educators were asked, “Which of the following causes your positive attitude to dwindle?” The choices included, meetings, behavior management, parent interaction, evaluations, other adult attitudes, curriculum, and other. 59.46 percent of participants chose “other adult attitudes”. This taught me that attitudes are important! They can make or break your day and will, eventually, “trickle down” and impact your students.
We have all encountered someone on the “negative” side of the attitude spectrum. I have learned this attitude can stem from a multitude of reasons. Because we can never really know the source of a negative attitude, I have challenged myself to assume this person is going through a rough time. My challenge for you is to seek this person out. Maybe all they need is for someone positive (like you!) to say, “Good morning!” or “I loved that idea you brought to PLC yesterday!”
Walk in your building each morning with a positive attitude. You might just put into motion the change your school atmosphere needs.
So here is the moral of the story... I didn't even know Holly a week ago! She got on the site, liked what she saw, and reached out to me. Something motivated her. She liked Just Win Today.
Now here is the crazy part: WHAT HOLLY JUST WROTE MOTIVATED ME! I guarantee you that it will help somebody else today. This is something we can all do!! That is why I encourage everybody to share, share, share. What you're going through, you don't have to go through it alone. Whatever you're going through or whatever you've been through - good and bad - could help somebody else today.
I've had dozens of people text me, email me, inbox me... that article by James Hollywod inspired me, or the thing Jack Walls Wrote made me change my attitude at work, or what Lucas Nutt wrote really make me stop and think.
That is my ultimate goal here, to build a site where it is 100% community driven. Then you guys won't have to keep listening to me talk LOL. So thank you so much for sharing Holly, You guys can look for more stuff from Holly on the message boards and also on the blog.
Everybody have a good day. Try to spread some "positivity." Try to help each other.
