I'm Joining Ice Cube's 3-on-3 League... Who's With Me?

Have you seen this new 3-on-3 league that the rapper Ice Cube started? When I first read the headline, I was like "WHAT?!?!" It sounded stupid. Then I read the article, and I started thinking of the guys I could recruit (haha) for my squad.

I was a head basketball coach in high school and college for 13 years. Before that, and before I was in a wreck where I got hit by a drunk driver going over 100 mph, I had a little game myself. So I'm thinking maybe I could call up some of my former players and we could start a team.

I'm the point guard, and after breaking my ankle and hip, I'm not playing any defense. So I'll need a two guard who can guard the point. I'll be standing over in the corner guarding the guy who doesn't move. I need my two guard to also be able to occasionally run some point, because when I get tired I like to be that guy standing in the corner jacking up threes.

Next, I'll need a big guy to get all the rebounds, because I'm not doing that either. He also needs to set a lot of ball screens, because having lost a step or two (or three) or quickness, I'll need somebody to set me some good screens so I can penetrate. He can't need the ball a lot either, because sometimes I get hot and don't like to pass.

So now that I have my wing and my post player, I need two subs, because those are the league rules. My first sub would be another point guard, just in case I roll the ankle I broke. In that event, I'd also need an ambulance, because I'm not getting back up. Period. I'm just gonna lay there until a stretcher shows up.

My other sub would be a stretch four type of player. He needs to be able to get rebounds, like my center, but I need him to be able to hit threes. Again, this guy will help my pick and roll game, which I'll need because I'm not sure I'm quick enough to beat my own man off of the dribble anymore.

The league plays every Saturday, with players taking 52% of overall league revenue. I think on our team, I deserve like 40% of the cut, with the other four guys splitting 60% four ways. This is only fair, since the whole thing was my idea, and I'll be a player/coach, meaning I'm getting paid for two different jobs.

The last thing we'll need is a team name and some uniforms. I'll call my homie Chris Sledge at Skeeter Kell Sporting Goods for the jerseys. He'll give me a deal. And for our name, I'm open to suggestions. You guys can leave me some ideas in the comment section.

So who's with me? I'm taking applications. It says we're going against former pro players, so I'm only looking for THE BEST PLAYERS. You know, players like me :)
